Key Achievements of the 3rd Year
We benefited 2,899 people with our programs.
We recovered 740.8 k of valuable waste and 374.8 k of general trash in 14 lagoon, beach, and mangrove cleaning activities.
369 volunteers participated in activities in the last year of operation.
During the 2024 season, we welcomed 2,439 terns at MÍA Reef Isla Mujeres Sanctuary.
1,064 chicks were born during the 2024 tern nesting season.
We contributed to the environmental education of 2,308 children and young teenagers through talks in schools and visits to the Tern Sanctuary.
We actively participated in the training of 320 MÍA Hotels & Resorts employees, promoting sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with the environment.
We participated in various environmental days such as World Environmental Education Day, World Wetlands Day, International Day of the Mesoamerican Reef, World Water Day, World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, and International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem.
We joined the specialized working group on water education, communication, and culture (GETECCA) to contribute to actions aimed at education and awareness of efficient water use and related ecosystems.
